At 6:08 PM on September 8, 2023 the West Chester Borough Fire Department, Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute, West Whiteland Fire Company and West Chester Borough Police Department were dispatched to a reported building fire in the 300 block of East Gay Street, West Chester Borough.

Crews arrived to find a smoke condition inside with a burning odor. The cause of the incident was found to be an HVAC unit on the roof of the complex.

All units cleared at 6:42 PM
